Health and social care services in Ireland are currently, and are likely to remain, under immense pressure as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The State Claims Agency recognises that this is an exceptional and evolving situation.

The safety, health and wellbeing of service users, patients, health and social care professionals and other personnel engaged to deal with the pandemic is the utmost priority at this time.

We are engaging with and working closely with the Department of Health, the Health Service Executive (HSE) and health and social care services which are delegated to the State indemnity schemes managed by the State Claims Agency during these challenging times.

Indemnity advices and risk management measures

We continue to provide advice to and respond to queries from the health and social care sector in respect of indemnity and risk management. In relation to these matters, we have developed advisory documents to assist health and social care services.
