The use of extension leads/ adaptors should be avoided where at all possible. There have been some safety concerns in relation to adaptors and, in particular, with the overloading of multiple outlet adaptors.

In line with the State Claims Agency's mandate to provide risk management advices to State Authorities, the Risk Advisory Notice below sets out risk management advice which should be followed when the use of electrical adaptors cannot be avoided.
