Exposure to sensitive content can significantly impair the psychological health and wellbeing of those exposed. This is an active and ongoing risk across the State sector and the State Claims Agency manage personal injury claims from such exposures when they arise.
Sensitive content can include text, pictures, graphs, illustrations, photographs, video clips, or any other type of material of a particularly sensitive nature, for example, content relating to child or adult abuse/pornography or graphic pictures of a violent death. These exposures can significantly impair the psychological health and wellbeing of those exposed.
New guidance
Alongside the Health and Safety Authority, the State Claims Agency has developed a guidance document ‘Psychosocial Risk Assessment – Exposure to Sensitive Content’ to support organisations employing people in roles which expose them to sensitive content.
Download Guidance
The document sets out practical risk management guidance to help support organisations in the management of this risk which can help promote employee safety and health while also helping to mitigate incidents and claims arising in the future.
